Bitzer U.S. Inc. has discontinued the exclusive private branding of its screw compressor product line and began marketing its screws directly to OEMs and aftermarket customers in the United States. According to Peter Narreau, president of Atlanta-based Bitzer U.S., the transition has been transparent to customers with one exception: Bitzer's screws are now finished in Bitzer's traditional green rather than black.

"We are excited to have the screws back in our product portfolio," says Narreau, "as they will complement our new R410A commercial scroll offering. Bitzer can now offer OEMs compressor capacities from 15 to 40 tons in scroll models and 40 to 320 tons in screws."

Also, in Syracuse, N.Y., Bitzer Scroll Inc. a subsidiary of Bitzer SE of Sindelfingen, Germany, celebrated the grand opening of its new scroll compressor design and manufacturing center. This plant, Bitzer's second in the United States, will focus on manufacturing commercial R410A scroll compressors.
