A concurrent technical presentation format that allows attendees to select from both tracks is a highlight of the Cooling Technology Institute's 2010 conference. Scheduled February 7-11 at the Westin Galleria in Houston, the conference will present more than 25 technical papers, plus owner/operator, educational and ask the expert seminars. The technical sessions cover cooling tower performance and technology (P&T) as well as cooling tower engineering standards and maintenance (ES&M). Technical committees also will meet to continue the important standards work of this organization.

Highlights of the annual CTI meeting include the following:

• The water treating panel discussion on Monday, February 8, which will look at the economics associated with water sources (including reuse) as they relate to pretreatment, tower fill, heat exchanger metallurgy and water quality variables, to optimize the efficiency of operation, water conservation and equipment life.
  
• The owner/operator session on Tuesday, February 9, which will focus on wood-to-fiberglass connection on cooling towers and on monitoring equipment for cooling tower water quality.
  
• Technical presentations on cooling tower fans, composite materials for towers, water reuse and discharge, concrete cooling towers, deposit monitoring techniques, tower inspection techniques, computer modeling of tower characteristics and performance, water treatment, plume abatement, and filtration.
