Composite Drive Shafts for Cooling Towers

Designed for cooling tower power transmission systems, each composite drive shaft connects the electric motor to the gearbox input shaft, thereby transmitting torque to rotate the cooling tower fan. The shafts accommodate spans ranging from 2' in small towers to more than 20' in large field-erected towers. Features include a high strength-to-weight ratio; inherent corrosion resistance (due to composite material); a patented composite flex disc (used in place of a steel “shim” pack); and vibration and shock control (due to the natural dampening of composite materials).
