Fluid Options for Low Temperatures
Many low-temperature cooling processes below 32°F (0°C) traditionally have used ethylene glycol-based water mixtures.

Typical Applications
Infrared thermometers can be used in food cooling applications ranging from candy manufacturing to ensuring the right temperature of frozen peas and baked goods.

Consultant: 'A Money-Saving Technology'
Campbell Technical Services Inc. has provided project consulting, instrumentation, controls and client project management services for 15 years. Within the last five years, the company has increasingly begun using infrared sensors for food freezing applications.

The Vortex Tube Approach
With no moving parts, a vortex tube cooling system spins compressed air into a vortex where hot and cold airstreams are separated at rotational speeds of up to 1 million rpm.

Chillin' Out With Energy Management
The fluctuating energy prices of the last year are just the latest incentives for making energy efficiency a high priority for any company that uses an industrial refrigeration system.

Rising Interest in Sea-Water Cooling
Fresh water has become a very valued resource. At many locations around the world, industrial and commercial expansion is limited by the availability of fresh water. Only in a limited number of areas — for instance, the north coast of the United States, where about 20 percent of the world’s fresh water resides in the Great Lakes — is a relatively consistent recharge of the resource experienced.
