In an effort to improve lead times to customers, Caron Products & Services Inc., Marietta, Ohio, has implemented cellular manufacturing. Workstations have been arranged in an efficient sequence that allows a continuous and smooth movement of inventories and materials to produce products in a single process flow while minimizing transport and waiting time. The process modifications are expected to provide higher product efficiencies, reduce inventory levels, optimize the use of floor space, and result in shorter production cycletimes.

The company also has released literature on its heavy-duty, full temperature range refrigerated incubators and diurnal incubators, which were designed for more demanding applications than typical economy models. The literature can be obtained at www.caronproducts.com.
