More than 1.5 million workers in the U.S. plastics industry stand to benefit from a new web page, OSHA Assistance for the Plastics Industry, unveiled in late spring by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Wash-ington. The new page, located at www.osha.org/SLTC/plastics/index.html, is the product of an OSHA's SPI Alliance, an agreement signed last year with the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. (SPI), Washington.
The new web page offers information about OSHA standards as well as safety and health concerns in the plastics industry. It also includes links to an interactive training program, various eTools, frequently asked questions (FAQ) about ergonomics for plastics processors, and a section on hazards and solutions that outlines procedures to identify and reduce workplace hazards.
