Conventional and centrifugal oil separators are offered in sealed and serviceable styles. According to the company, testing has shown that the separators can be 99 percent efficient at removing oil from refrigerant gas. Oil separators should be selected based on the tonnage of the system under normal operating conditions. These conditions are defined by the capacity of the compressor as determined by the refrigerant gas and saturated suction and condensing temperatures of the operating system. For optimum sizing, select an oil separator with the nearest capacity to the system's load at the evaporating temperature.
