Those who need up-to-date information about air conditioning and refrigeration equipment performance requirements should request the recently revised "ARI Standard 700-99 Specification for Fluorocarbon Refrigerants " from the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), Arlington, VA. The standard establishes purity specifications and stipulates the associated testing methods for acceptability for fluorocarbon refrigerants for use in new and existing refrigeration and air-conditioning products. The standard also specifies acceptable contaminant levels for fluorocarbon refrigerants and lists acceptable test methods.
