Designed to circulate a fluid medium (typically water or a water-glycol solution) for process application cooling, central liquid chillers are stationary and serve several process applications at once. Chiller systems can supply cooling fluids at temperatures between 20 and 65oF (-6 and 18oC) to several processes throughout the entire plant. Provided as modules (stand-alone chiller that requires a pump tank station to distribute the chilled water it produces) or packages (self-contained with the chiller and pump tank station on a single platform), central chillers are offered in capacities from 5 to 300 tons.
