BOC Edwards becomes Edwards; Ashcroft CEO joins parent company oversight team; and other news and notes.

Following its change of ownership in May,BOC Edwardschanged its name toEdwards, effective immediately. The San Francisco, Calif.-based supplier of vacuum, abatement and chemical management equipment and services, will continue to provide technology and global service and support to its customers. The company was purchased from theLinde Group byCCMP Capital and is now a privately owned company.

Colmac Coil Manufacturing, Colville, Wash., was awarded the 2007 Governor’s Emerging Trader of the Year Award by theWorld Trade Clubin Seattle, Wash. The organization annually recognizes a Washington State-based business for significant contributions to the development and expansion of international trade. Colmac also received the Inland Northwest Global business on the Rise Award at the annual meeting of theInternational Trade Alliance in Spokane, Wash., for demonstrating innovation and success in international activities. Through its strong international efforts, foreign sales at Colmac Coil are expected to increase by 30 percent.

Two web sites were launched by Carnegie, Pa.-basedRed Valve Co.andTideflex Technologies. The new sites provide access to product information and resources. A clearer structure, simplified navigation and improved search functions were designed to make finding production information easier. Site users also will benefit from improved news sections, rep locators, application notes and special project photos.

Gems Sensors & Controls, Plainville, Conn., launched Qwik Piks, an online shopping feature for Gems’ line of miniature solenoid valves. At its site, the company offers cryogenic, general-purpose and isolation valves with a three-day lead time.

A product guide offers a view of Hazel Park, Mich.-basedUniversal Flow Monitors’ flowmeters for cooling water, lubrication oil, chemicals and brines. The guide can be downloaded from the site, where general descriptions in the guide are complemented by the site’s flow technology data and detailed product information that is cross-referenced by industry and application.

John T. McKenna, CEO of Stratford, Conn.-basedAshcroft Inc., was appointed operating officer of Ashcroft’s parent company,Nagano Keiki Co. Ltd., in Tokyo, Japan. In addition to his role as CEO of Ashcroft Inc., McKenna will play a key role in the management of Nagano.
