AMCA has partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy to produce a software tool called the Fan System Assessment Tool (FSAT), which can be used to help quantify the potential benefits of optimizing fan system configurations. FSAT is designed to be simple and quick, and requires only basic information about the fans and the motors that drive them. With FSAT, plants can calculate the amount of energy used by their fan systems, determine system efficiency and quantify the savings potential of an upgraded system. A minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and 10 megabytes of hard drive space are required. A downloadable copy of the software and additional information can be found online (link at bottom of page).
