Cooling Tower for Winery
July 10, 2009
The cooling tower used in this installation at a winery performs a “flash process.” Once the grapes are smashed, the grape juice is heated with steam at 194°F (90°C). The grape juice then flows through a heat exchanger to lower the temperature of the grape juice to “flash” the juice from hot to cold. The cooling tower is used to maintain the desired temperatures in the heat exchanger to make this process possible.
