Luvata ElectroFin Inc. plans to open a Florida facility to meet the growing demand for HVAC&R coil protection against corrosive environments. Scheduled for operation the first quarter of 2010, the facility will offer Insitu, a permanent water-based synthetic spray-on coating developed specifically for the protection of heat exchange units. The company already makes a plant-applied e-coat product called ElectroFin.

"The coil corrosion protection offered by Luvata retains the operating efficiency of the unit longer while reducing maintenance, replacement and operating costs," says Ralph Rice, general manager. "This ultimately extends the length of service of HVAC&R systems."

The Florida location will serve customers in the Southeast United States, joining Luvata's other ElectroFin locations -- Louisville, Ky.; Jacksonville, Texas; and Temecula, Calif. -- in offering spray-applied coil corrosion protection.
