Series 3000C and PT2 cooling towers from Baltimore Aircoil received special seismic certification approval by the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD).

OSHPD is a government agency that promotes healthcare accessibility to the people of California. Ensuring the safety of buildings used in providing healthcare is an important part of OSHPD's mission, so its OSHPD Facilities Development Division reviews and inspects facility construction projects. The division enforces building standards per the California Building Standards Code, and it is considered to be one of the largest building departments in the State of California.

OSHPD recognizes the importance of dynamic seismic testing for verification of seismic design qualification of mechanical equipment. It has issued pre-approval for the Baltimore-based tower maker's Series 3000C and PT2 product lines for special seismic certification under approval numbers OSP-0001-10 and OSP-0002-10, respectively. The approval means that project-specific submittals to OSHPD of the certification data for these product lines are no longer required. This will save time and money in the construction process.
