Ron Conry, the inventor and founder of Turbocor Compressors, has launched a venture to develop new technologies and create solutions for energy generation and conservation. The newly formed company, Verdicorp, will focus on research and development and creating new products for the energy industry. In the meantime, Conry will continue to serve as a senior technology advisor to Danfoss Turbocor, which he founded in 1994.

"It's a win-win situation for both Ron and us," says Ricardo Schneider, president of Danfoss Turbocor. “Danfoss Turbocor is evolving from an entrepreneur to a world-class manufacturer. We will focus on serving our customers and strengthening our product portfolio and position in the … process-cooling OEM business, while Ron is developing breakthrough technologies for the energy generation and conservation market."

In 1994, Conry assembled a team to develop a centrifugal compressor that would be efficient, operate at high speed, be oil-free, lightweight, quiet, without vibration, and fully integrated. Developed in Australia, Conry's concept was commercialized in Canada. Following the backing of a joint venture with Danfoss, the product that was subsequently developed has achieved global acceptance. There are more than 14,000 Turbocor compressors in operation worldwide.
