For the second year in a row, Frigel North America was awarded the 2009 Illinois Governor’s Sustainability Award for Continuous Improvement. The award recognized the East Dundee, Ill.-based company for its commitment to sustainability based on innovations made to its Ecodry system, a closed-loop process cooling system designed to help companies reduce water and energy consumption.
Frigel customer, Central Can Co., a Chicago-based manufacturer of metal and plastic containers, also received the 2009 Governor’s Sustainability Award. The company received the award based on many sustainable practices, among them, installing the Ecodry system. With the Ecodry, Central Can achieved a reduction in water and energy consumption, as well as realized faster cycle times as a result of the the system's efficient cooling.
