Alfa Laval Group, Lund, Sweden, has acquired a designer and manufacturer of stainless steel valves and equipment for the food processing, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

The company purchased Definox, a division of Defontaine of America Inc., both located in New Berlin, Wis., “to capture growth opportunities, in this case driven by quality and safety demands from the food and pharmaceutical industries,” says Lars Renström, Alfa Laval president and CEO. “Definox will continue to offer its own product range, under its own brand and through its own sales network.”

Forty-year-old Definox has annual sales of about $28.7 million and approximately 120 employees.
