annual savings for water heating with an ammonia heat pump.
In this example, the potential savings for water heating
using an ammonia heat pump are shown. Among the criteria compared are utility
cost input, water-related information, heat source, plant operation data and
overall cost comparisons.
For example, consider a processing facility that needs
to heat 96,000 gal/day, or about 100 gal/min, of 65°F (18°C) water to 135°F
(57°C). The total amount of water heated per year is 24.9 million gallons. For
