Kadant UK Ltd., based in Bury, Lancashire, U.K., has received an order for two 15-disc Petax fine filtration systems from a Thai packaging producer. The filters will be used to help recycle white water used in the papermaking process via single-stage filtration of liquids containing a high level of suspended solids. Siam Kraft Industry Co., Bangkok, is Thailand's largest packaging manufacturer.

“The Petax filtration system [removes] almost all of the suspended solids over 30 µm in size in the filtrate, [and it] is achieved without the addition of chemical flocculants, fiber sweetener stock or precoats,” says Ron Chambers, Kadant's managing director. "We are pleased to see the value our customers place on Kadant’s water management solutions to reduce water consumption and effluent in the papermaking process.”

Kadant UK Ltd.'s water management products are applied to the cleaning of forming and press fabrics and the filtration of process water while its fluid-handling products, including steam systems and related components, are used to optimize heat transfer in rotating cylinders and fluid-handling systems.
