Century Refrigeration, a division of RAE Corp., Pryor, Okla., has announced a price increase due to the fluctuating cost of raw material. The company notes that the price of commodities such as copper and aluminum has steadily increased throughout 2010 and into 2011. Century Refrigeration made efforts to reduce costs in other areas with increased automation, updated tooling, investments in tube bending equipment and a redesigned condensing unit.
According to the company, these efforts will defray some of
the material cost impact. The price increase will vary based upon the raw
material content of each piece of equipment, but most price increases are in
the range of 6 to 8 percent.
