Alfa Laval has received a $20.7 million order from one of the largest global
brewery groups. The Brazil factory will use the Alfa Laval equipment in different
stages of the beer-making process, including fermentation, cooling, filtration,
blending and storage. The order includes a wide variety of hygienic products,
such as valves, pumps, pipes, fittings and plate heat exchangers.
According to Lars Renström, Alfa Laval Group's president and CEO, the order "confirms
that the increased living standard in Brazil is driving demand for beverages."
Alfa Laval, headquartered in Lund, Sweden, has sold to Brazil factories
since 1959, and last year its orders from that country grew 18 percent.
