The Ovation control system from Emerson Process Management, Pittsburgh, will be installed at China Resources Puqi power plant in Chibi City. Among other things, the system will monitor and control the boiler at two new 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical power generating units under construction.
As part of its automation solution at Puqi, Emerson will supply a total of 64 redundant Ovation controllers and 23 workstations. An Ovation system at each unit will perform data acquisition as well as monitor and control the boiler and turbine. Unifying boiler and turbine controls will improve unit stability, responsiveness and thermal efficiencies, and also will provide tighter overall control of plant operations, offering a clearer view of key plant and turbine parameters, Emerson says.
