Honeywell has launched Solstice as a brand name for its low-global-warming-potential (GWP) materials.

Honeywell Specialty Materials, Morris Township, N.J., has launched Solstice as a brand name for its low-global-warming-potential (GWP) materials. The brand will be used for the family of stationary and mobile refrigerants, blowing agents, propellants and solvents that Honeywell continues to develop and commercialize.

Solstice products are based on Honeywell’s hydrofluoro-olefin technology and help customers lower the carbon footprint without compromising end-product performance. The brand name will include HFO-1234yf, a air-conditioning refrigerant, and HFO-1234ze, a agent and propellant.

According to the company, the Solstice brand reflects the products’ environmental properties, including their insulating capabilities for foam and their cooling capabilities for refrigerant and automotive air-conditioning applications.
