There’s a new fan on the market specifically for locations where very low sound is a necessity.

SPX Cooling Technologies, Overland Park, Kan., has introduced a new ultra quiet fan for its Marley NC cooling towers. The fan has up to a 12 dBA reduction in sound levels 5' above the fan compared to standard low-sound fans, the company says. The wide-chord blade design delivers good airflow and pressure capability at reduced speeds, SPX says.

Other features include:
  • Fire-resistant marine-grade aluminum blades mounted to the machined aluminum hub.

  • Reduced vibration due to the fan being up to 70 percent lighter than similar FRP fans.

  • Lightweight design suited for knockdown towers or tight environments where cranes and other equipment cannot be used.

  • Adjustable pitch by loosening attachment hardware and rotating the blades.
The fan, which comes in sizes from 66 to 156" dia, meets FM requirements. For more information, go to www.spxcooling.com
