Aggreko, the Houston-based provider of temporary power, temperature control and oil-free compressed-air solutions, received Occupational Health and Safety Standard 18001 Certification. The designation came after completing a three-phase evaluation process, which included a third-party review of supporting documentation and surveillance of on-site operations.

Certification covers all of Aggreko’s service center locations across the United States and Canada. Expected benefits include:
  • Better planning for and ongoing management of health and safety risks.
  • Reduced work-related incidents and illnesses.
  • Reduced costs associated with accidents and illnesses.
  • Improved operations.
  • Increased control of regulatory issues.
  • Less risk of citations and penalties.
  • Lower insurance costs.
The goal was to go “above and beyond the typical industry standards expected for safety, and provide an incident- and accident-free work environment for our employees and customers,” says Terry Dressel, vice president, national operations for Aggreko North America. The company says it plans to measure and enhance the effectiveness of the 18001 standard on a regular basis.
