A microsite filled with instructional videos, interactive tools and a comprehensive literature library is intended for food processors currently freezing or consideringAir Products freezing product using liquid nitrogen.

Created by Air Products, Allentown, Pa., the microsite explains the advantages that liquid nitrogen freezing can offer over mechanical freezing and chilling processes, and how the technology can help food processors maximize their operation and improve product quality. Features of the site include a freeze time calculator, an interactive tool that demonstrates the benefits of liquid nitrogen freezing or chilling. Customers can input their specific information such as food type as well as starting and ending temperatures to see a comparison of freeze time and footprint for a liquid-nitrogen vs. mechanical system. Customers also can arrange a product trial at one of Air Products’ food laboratories. Using commercial-scale equipment, the company can help determine the exact benefit of using liquid nitrogen for a customer’s specific application and product.

In addition to a literature library that includes articles, white papers and customer testimonials, the microsite hosts a number of videos, called “Fresh Clips,” that briefly explain and demonstrate how liquid nitrogen freezing works. Food freezing veterans can view a series of videos that offer tips such as proper belt loading.
Those new to freezing can view videos explaining the advantages of continuous or process freezing versus storage freezing.
