Bitzer SE, Sindelfingen, Germany, has taken over Altenburg, Germany-based Armaturenwerk Altenburg GmbH (AWA), a manufacturer of refrigerant fittings. The company will become a subsidiary of Bitzer.

AWA produces and sells valves, sight glasses, solder adapters, flanges and fittings for refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. The company exports up to 45 percent of its products to the EU, the United States, China, Brazil and Russia. The company’s AWA, FAS and Hans Nobis brands will remain, and Bitzer plans to expand and develop the company’s current location, having already purchased a neighboring property.

New managing directors of the subsidiary will be AWA employees Diana Schubert and Günter Schuboth.
