A short course tailored as an introduction to cryogenics for new hires and as a way for experienced employees to brush up their knowledge will be held on Sunday, June 16, just before the start of the Cryogenic Engineering Conference/International Cryogenic Materials Conference (CEC/ICMC). The course, which will be held at the Anchorage Marriott Downtown in Anchorage, allows attendees to brush up on basics without missing the annual conference.

The full-day course will be taught by Dr. John G. Weisend II, European Spallation Source, and Tom Peterson, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Session topics will include the properties of cryogenic fluids, the cryogenic properties of materials, refrigeration and liquefaction, cryostat design, cryogenic equipment and instrumentation, and safety in cryogenic systems.
