Atlas Copco, Stockholm, Sweden, though its subsidiary Exlair S.A.S, acquired Air et Techniques Energies Provence (ATEP), a distributor of industrial compressors based in Aix-en-Provence, France. ATEP is privately owned and has annual revenues of approximately $7.8 million. With sales and service branches in Nimes and Nice, ATEP sells and provides service for industrial compressors and ancillary equipment. The business will keep the ATEP name and becomes part of Compressor Technique Service.
Secondly, Atlas Copco opened a lean compressor manufacturing facility near Pune, India. The built-up area of approximately 204,500 ft2 (19,000m2) includes a manufacturing plant and engineering office building. The new facility will manufacture industrial and portable compressors. The present factory in Dapodi, India, will continue to produce oil-free compressors and air-quality products.
Finally, Atlas Copco also opened a new manufacturing facility in China. The plant, located in Wuxi in the Jiangsu province in eastern China, will manufacture small and medium-sized industrial air compressors, and portable diesel and electric-driven compressors and generators.
