Claude Laval Corp., Fresno, Calif., the manufacturer of Lakos separator and filtration solutions, has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Lindsay Corp. The Omaha, Neb.-based firm focuses on manufacturing and marketing of water-management systems. According to the companies, the acquisition will enhance Lindsay’s existing product lines and its technology development.
With roots in the agricultural irrigation business, Lindsay designs and builds the Zimmatic center-pivot irrigation system. Over the last 50 years, the company has expanded into other markets, including the heat transfer and industrial markets.
"While there is a very direct synergy between Lakos filtration solutions and our water and irrigation markets, we view this acquisition as a strategic move to expand our position in the growing industrial and heat transfer markets," says Rick Parod, Lindsay's president and CEO.
