Burkert Fluid Control Systems has developed the MultiCELL Type 8619 multi-channel controller for water treatment, food and pharmaceutical applications. In reverse osmosis systems, the controller can be used for monitoring functions as a flow indicator, to measure the ORP value or percentage retention value. The Type 8619 MultiCELL can also be used for control tasks, such as regulation of the pH value and the dosing of chemicals and ratio control. The modular controller is adapted at the factory to the particular application and customer specifications. The standard version includes the user interface, the mainboard and AC adapter, two analog and digital outputs and two digital inputs. Six slots are available for connecting additional boards. The large, configurable graphic display with backlighting can display up to four readings simultaneously. Further parameters and user-specific pages can be displayed by “scrolling.” The digital and analog signal outputs enable the transfer of process data and status signals. If more than two of these are needed, an output card with two additional digital and two additional analog outputs can be installed. All process values can additionally be stored on SD cards by means of an optional data logger package for computer analysis using any standard software package.
Burkert Presents New Stainless Steel 2/2-Way Angle Seat Valve
With the type 2000 INOX, Burkert is expanding its line of compact 2/2-way valves to include an angle seat valve in which both the actuator and the body are made of high-quality stainless steel. Customized solutions such as mixing, distributing and multi-way functions can be achieved by a special modular valve body with very compact dimensions.
The new pneumatically operated 2000 INOX angle seat valve from Burkert consists of a pneumatic piston actuator and a 2-way valve body. Both parts are manufactured from stainless steel 316L and therefore can be used with media at temperatures of up to +180°C. In addition to high temperature resistance, the high-quality material offers optimal protection against corrosion and is ideal for applications with high requirements for hygiene. The 2/2-way valve can be used for the control of numerous media, such as water, alcohols, oils, steam and air. Fuels, hydraulic fluid, saline solutions, alkaline solutions, organic solvents and neutral gases can also be isolated with the valve. The compact actuator can be selected as either normally open or normally closed in its resting position. The flow-optimized valve body with flow below seat enables high flow rates and the self-adjusting packing gland, which has stood the test of time in numerous Burkert valves, provides for an optimum seal.
Compact High-Performance Multi-Functional Blocks
In addition to high pressure and temperature resistance, requirements for modern valve solutions increasingly include a compact design and flexibility for adaptation to customized applications. Especially to meet this demand, Burkert offers a modular block system based on the 2000 INOX valve, which can be used to implement complex solutions within minimal space. The multi-functional block replaces the connecting tube solutions used in the past. The new system significantly reduces assembly time, and connecting elements such as elbows and T-adapters are eliminated entirely. Through the elimination of potential leak paths and the reduction of material and minimization of space, the use of multi-functional blocks significantly improves the overall system performance. The blocks can be used for the effective and space-saving implementation of essential fluid functions, such as distributing, collecting and mixing systems, whilst offering the integration of sensors, filters and non-return valves.
