With more than 1,000 industrial refrigeration professionals in attendance, the IIAR Industrial Refrigeration Conference and Heavy Equipment Show is the largest event dedicated exclusively to industrial refrigeration held anywhere in the world. The Heavy Equipment Show moniker means exhibitors will bring full-scale systems to the show floor, exhibiting the latest equipment, products, services and technologies available in industrial refrigeration.

Manufacturers, contractors, trainers and other service providers from the industrial refrigeration industry will gather in the Renaissance Nashville Hotel & Convention Center to display their products and services on March 23-26. According to IIAR, the event attracts a highly qualified audience of industrial refrigeration decision-makers who represent contracting firms and end-user facilities from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, Europe, Asia  and Australia.

The conference program kicks off on Sunday, March 23, with a free ammonia safety training program presented by the Ammonia Safety Training Institute (ASTI) in collaboration with IIAR exclusively for the 2014 IIAR Industrial Refrigeration Conference & Heavy Equipment Show. This half-day educational program is designed to strengthen relationships among industry professionals, public safety officials and the regulatory community by creating a stronger level of positive awareness and network engagement concerning ammonia safety. The training workshop covers topics including best practices in safety readiness, most effective PPE choices and general hazards of storage and use of ammonia. It will incorporate PSM/RMP information in regard to first response policies.

In the afternoon of Sunday, March 23, IIAR debuts its Process Safety Management and Risk Management Program Guidelines and presents strategies for implementing it in a facility. Topics include how to conduct effective audits for regulatory compliance and a discussion of PSM/RMP typical program weaknesses that are consistently arising as a result of regulatory inspections as part of OSHA’s National Emphasis Program. The fee-based workshop costs $250 for meeting registrants.

The conference program also includes:

  • Eight technical papers.
  • Eight workshops.
  • Five Spanish language technical papers and a Spanish language workshop.
  • Two in-depth panels.
  • 10 exhibitor-sponsored "technomercials."
  • IIAR business meeting, keynote speaker presentation, code and regulatory lunch, and networking opportunities during hosted breakfasts, breaks, lunches, receptions and banquets.
