Automation Federation and Chevron will co-sponsor a free seminar on June 13 to educate companies in the process industries about ISA’s cybersecurity standards, also known as ISA/IEC 62443. The meeting, which will be held in Chevron's Houston offices, Chevron’s Houston, Texas offices will educate area manufacturing leaders on the value and importance of the recently launched U.S. Cybersecurity Framework.

The ISA/IEC 62443 standards are designed to mitigate the effects of cyberdamage to industrial plant systems and networks commonly used in power plants and other industrial settings, transportation grids and water treatment facilities. Proper industrial cybersecurity can help prevent widespread plant shutdowns, operational and equipment failure, economic and environment disruption, and serious risks to the public.
