St. Louis-based Emerson Climate Technologies created a strategic business initiative to focus on positioning the company as a global leader in carbon dioxide systems.

Andre Patenaude, director of CO₂ business development, will lead the initiative, which will provide information about utilizing CO₂ as a refrigerant. Given the challenges in utilizing CO₂ as a refrigerant, such as higher pressures, up to1500 psi and a lack of experienced technicians, widespread implementation of CO₂  systems will require much greater rigor and oversight in their design, training and installation, says the company

Patenaude is responsible for developing the global strategy, marketing initiatives, communication activities, channel training and educational programs as they relate to utilizing CO₂ in refrigeration systems.
