Crossflow Cooling Towers for Utilities Industry
The milestone 28-cell Pegasus Titan industrial crossflow cooling tower erected at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant in 2011 lowered costs for the utility and its ratepayers, and it improved the ecology of the neighboring Tennessee River. Now, the company has replaced two underperforming cooling towers at the nuclear plant with Pegasus Titan towers.
Pegasus Titan is a composite fiberglass crossflow cooling tower designed specifically for power plant applications. Its technology provides superior thermal performance. Features include wide-open basins and plenum areas, with column spacing up to 14’ rather than the industry norm of 6’. This makes the tower easier and safer to erect and maintain.
