An air-cooled steam condenser from San Diego-based Spig USA Inc. will soon be on its way to the 740 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Carrol County, Ohio.

The facility will use advanced emissions-control technology and, according to Spig, will be one of the cleanest and most efficient plants in the nation. Spig is supporting Bechtel, a global engineering, construction and project-management company, with the new facility. Spig will design and build a flexible 7X3 configuration air-cooled condenser, with single-row tube bundles that will meet energy-efficiency and performance expectations for the project.
