Indirect Cooling Applications. The ABS piping system is a fully preinsulated plastic piping system designed for indirect cooling applications and offers an energy-efficient, noncorroding, maintenance free performance. It is suitable for water, brine, glycol solutions and ice-slurry in many applications including:
- Process cooling.
- Breweries, wineries, soft drink and juice production.
- Food production (slaughterhouses, meat/fish/fruits/vegetables processing).
- Dairies.
- Cold stores.
- Supermarkets.
- Air conditioning.
- Data centers.
Environmental Benefits. The production of the ABS piping system generates a lower CO2 footprint than any other metal production — from 40 to 60 percent lower, depending upon the type of metal.
In use, the ABS piping system’s secondary refrigeration system installation allows the required volume of refrigerant to be reduced by 80 to 90 percent, compared to that used by conventional systems. The ABS piping system is lower than existing systems in terms of its Total Equivalent Warming Impact (TEWI) value, which is based upon energy and coolant requirements, by more than 50 percent. It also provides the benefit of reduced overall costs for the operator.
Installation Savings. Industrial architecture, especially larger industrial buildings such as cold stores or production facilities, is sensitive to weight loads that affect the static load of the building. The ABS piping system is lighter in weight than metal and reduces the weight load, thereby easing installation.
