A chiller that incorporates an economizer that utilizes outside air as the primary cooling medium is designed for facilities with mission-critical operations.

Nexus Technology from Legacy Chillers, Portland, Ore., includes the proprietary economizer programming which serves as an additional heat exchanger system. The company says the economizer technology can help facilities achieve electrical cost savings of up to 60 percent.

The technology includes predictive maintenance monitoring, a redesigned scroll compressor, pumps with the ability to deliver design airflow and pressure to the process, and ECM fan technology.
