Model SR1R has low flow capacity and allows for economical relief piping to be used with the safety-relief valve on applications such as oil pots. According to regulations, it is the flow capacity of the relief valve that dictates the size of the relief piping, including relief headers, not the actual size of the vessel. On small vessels, an oversized relief valve can lead to oversized and expensive relief piping. The reduced-capacity safety-relief valve is available with a 0.5” inlet connection and a 0.75” outlet connection. It is designed and constructed to meet the requirements of Section VIII of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and ANSI/ASHRAE 15 Code requirements and bears the ASME Code Symbol (UV). It has a flow capacity of 4.5 lb/min of air at 150 psi set pressure (7.2 lb/min of air at 250 psi set pressure). Standard pressure settings are 150, 200, 250 and 300 psi. All products in the SR Series have stainless steel internal components and nonstick PTFE seals.
