Paper Mill Reuses 300,000 Gallons of Water Every Day While Doubling Capacity
GE’s ZeeWeed membrane bioreactor technology has helped Doubletree Paper Mills save 300,000 gallons of water daily. The paper mill in Gila Bend, Ariz., has doubled its paper production capacity without impacting the treatment capacity of the city’s existing municipal wastewater treatment plant by using the technology.
Doubletree Paper Mills has been treating and reusing its process water for the past 12 months, reducing water consumption and preserving the capacity of the city’s wastewater treatment plant for its residents. Gila Bend is a small desert town with limited wastewater treatment infrastructure.
