A live ammonia release demonstration will be a part of a two-day Ammonia Refrigeration Regional Conference. The Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association will host the May 2-3 event at the Irving Convention Center in Irving, Texas.

The conference program includes industrial refrigeration training, a keynote address by a representative from the Department of Homeland Security, hands-on compressor and heat exchanger workshops and sessions focused on ammonia safety. In addition to the planned live ammonia release demonstration, equipment manufacturers will have products on display in the 24,000 ft2 exhibit hall.

According to RETADFW Chapter President Jeremy Keith of Wagner-Meinert, the conference provides 13 hours of training. Certified industry professionals can earn just over half of the professional development hours (PDH) required for RETA certification maintenance.
