India’s IG International is planning to invest $10 million to expand its cold storage network in major regional hubs.

The fresh fruit importer currently has 14 cold storage facilities and intends to open more plants. The company imports from 22 countries and handles more than 31 varieties of fresh fruits.  According to IG International, the cold chain industry in India is currently valued at approximately $10 billion and has been growing at an annual rate of 18 to 20 percent during the last three years.

IG International’s most recent facility at Khopoli on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway extends the company’s cold storage network  and enables more efficient storage and distribution of fresh imported fruits across India.
