Danfoss’ “Engineering Tomorrow” Application Development Center opened in Tallahassee, Florida.
The laboratory will be able to test mildly flammable refrigerants at global nameplate voltages with real-time data acquisition and performance analysis. It also will include three fully automated test facilities capable of accommodating air conditioning and heat pump equipment from 1.2 to 50 tons and air-cooled chillers up to 150 tons.
The company invested in the facility because of increasing federal regulations and testing requirements impacting the HVACR industry, including new targets for low-GWP refrigerants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The Tallahassee Application Development Center will provide the necessary laboratory capacity to ensure compliance with evolving and future requirements. It also will serve as a competence center for Danfoss research and development activities.
