Hurricane Harvey continues to take a toll on the chemical facilities and refineries along the Gulf Coast. According to NPR, chemical storage containers at the Arkema plant in Crosby, Texas, ruptured as the materials within them continue to degrade and burn. Power outages and failed generators contributed to the problem as the refrigeration systems designed to keep the materials at a safe temperature are offline.
