Preferred Freezer Services (PFS) broke ground on a new cold storage facility in Kearny, N.J., the company’s ninth in the New Jersey area and its 38th in the United States.
The Kearny plant, which will cover more than 190,000 ft2 with storage capacity near 30,000 pallets, will satisfy demand for efficient cold storage warehousing services for the northern New Jersey and Manhattan markets, says the company. Consistency and product integrity will be sustained by a full on-site generator backup.
Scheduled to open in the summer of 2018, the facility will offer USDA import and export capability, in addition to a multi-purpose room for additional value-added services.
