Americold, a provider of temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics to the food industry, broke ground on a new building at its campus in Rochelle, Ill.
The 15.5 million ft3 facility will house an automated storage and retrieval system attached to a conventional warehouse format. The addition will bring an additional 57,600 pallet positions and increase the company’s global capacity.
The facility is expected to be completed in December 2018. Once open, Americold will hire up to 70 full- and part-time employees.
Based in Atlanta, Americold owns and operates over 165 temperature-controlled warehouses in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, China, Argentina and Canada.
