Azanechiller and Azanefreezer achieve charges as low as 2 lb of ammonia per ton of refrigeration, which is significantly lower than the OSHA’s process safety management (PSM) and EPA’s risk management plant (RPM) threshold limit of 10,000 lb of ammonia. The air- and water-cooled ammonia packaged chillers include features such as high efficiency screw compressors (two per package), air-cooled condensers and heat exchangers; low charge surge drum; integrated ammonia gas detection; and fully automatic oil recovery. The packaged ammonia freezer units are designed for use in freezer warehouses.
