Crowley Logistics will open its second CrowleyFresh cold storage facility in Florida. Located within its distribution center in Jacksonville, the warehouse further expands the company’s cold-chain services from south Florida to northeast Florida.
The facility includes humidity and temperature-controlled coolers capable of receiving, storing and handling perishables transiting between the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean. The warehouse includes cooling and monitoring equipment in two separate chambers. The chambers can be adjusted to meet and maintain varying temperature requirements. According to Crowley, the chambers offer additional options for frozen goods and temporary or overflow storage. Cooler chambers are tightly sealed and insulated to maintain food safety and avoid cross-contamination within a controlled receiving dock area.
