Wolverine Packing broke ground on its fifth meat processing plant in Detroit’s Eastern Market. Tippmann Innovation, a cold storage design-build firm, started site work on the approximately 180,000 ft² facility, which will include cold storage and is expected create around 150 new jobs.

Wolverine produces beef, poultry and other meat products, including 8 million burgers per week, filling orders for both international and domestic customers. The company currently operates out of four facilities.
