Wolverine Packing broke ground on its fifth meat processing plant in Detroit’s Eastern Market. Tippmann Innovation, a cold storage design-build firm, started site work on the approximately 180,000 ft2 facility, which will include cold storage and is expected create around 150 new jobs.

Wolverine produces beef, poultry and other meat products, including 8 million burgers per week, filling orders for both international and domestic customers. The company currently operates out of four facilities.
