The Rowan County (North Carolina) Board of Commissioners approved an incentives grant to facilitate the construction of a cold storage facility. The two-phase, $9 million project will bring 40 new jobs to Granite Quarry, N.C.

WJD Cold Storage says the facility will hold products for producers and manufacturers until they are ready to ship to customers. Phase 1 of the project, expected to be complete by December, will result in a 42,000 ft2 facility with space for 3,500 pallets. The second phase will nearly double the space and is expected to be complete by the end of 2021.
